Vector Space Systems wants to do for spaceflight what Steve Jobs did for so many other industries. The talented team has an aggressive plan to launch small satellites into orbit with its family of small launch vehicles and mini-satellites.
The Vector-R is the smallest satellite launch vehicle in the world, designed for payloads up to 50 kg, while the Vector-H can deploy payloads up to 100 kg. The team is preparing for commercial flights at a cadence of 100 per year.
Galactic Sky is their platform for software designed satellites, massively reducing the time for missions to go from concept to flight.
Thesis Couture has fundamentally elevated the experience of wearing high heels without sacrificing style or sex appeal.
The team, led by Dolly Singh, is building the first fashion house with deep capability across product engineering, R&D, innovation, and advanced manufacturing, in addition to product design & styling.
Rufus is building wearable technology to enable a superhuman workforce. The industrial/IoT startup is based in Los Angeles and focuses on enterprise tools that improve communication, increase productivity and keep workers safer on the job.
The Rufus Cuff is a ruggedized wearable with a 3.2” screen, 12-hour (full shift) battery, and runs the complete Android OS. It provides hands-free tools and includes sensors that allow for team monitoring, location-based assignments, alerts and safety checks.
Amped Innovation designs solutions for extreme affordability. 1.2 billion people globally who currently lack access to the grid. That’s one-quarter of the world’s population living without electricity.
The team partners with social enterprises to design radically affordable products that address basic human needs. Getting the price of electricity below that of kerosene is just the beginning.
The team, led by CEO Kurt Kuhlmann and COO Andi Kleissner, has developed the lowest-cost, highest-capacity solar power center on the market, with free pay-as-you-go tools to truly democratize energy access. Amped brought down the cost of solar power centers through engineering and design, minimizing cost and quantity of components by a 10x factor over the competition while optimizing functionality within the microcontroller.
In the summer of 2016, the team completed initial field trials with distribution partners in East and West Africa, securing MOU’s for 170,000 units for next year. Partnerships with leading NGOs and social ventures serving smallholder farmers have positioned Amped to deliver over 1.6 million solar power centers in the next five years.
In addition to the social impact of their innovation, Amped’s solution also helps end customers save $156M over 5 years in just kerosene and phone charging services, while reducing carbon emissions by 667,000 tons.
Amped’s legacy will be for creating a world in which renewable energies are cheaper, safer, and more accessible than kerosene.
3D-SensIR captures reality to enable augmented reality.
The team develops handheld smart 3D LIDAR camera systems that captures and scans outdoor and indoor environments, and create photorealistic 3D models in real-time regardless of environmental conditions. Their solution is engineered to be ultra compact and intuitive. Co-founders Gregory Campbell and Rengarajan “Sudhan” Sudharsanan previous worked together at Boeing Spectrolab.
Canviz is building a wood-framed digital canvas for displaying art & photography as well as a platform for collecting, discovering and sharing great content.

Plobot is a programmable robot created to empower children to find creative solutions and use logical thinking. The robot promotes smart learning and physical coding without the need for computers. Plobot allows young learners to use smart cards that represent the same coding blocks that engineers use when developing software syntax. Parents and teachers are also able to track children’s progress through a series of educational activities.
Co-founded by Rodolfo (Rudi) Cossovich and Camilo Parra Palacio, Plobot brings fun, educational technology to children developing logical thinking.
You can also pre-order your very own Plobot through Kickstarter.
